Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

Another question, sorry if i am asking too many but it is so hard for me to find this info anywhere else. Do I need an A.A. to get into the nursing A.A. program (non accerlerated) and to get into the BSN (non- accelerated)??

I was searching for the programs online but I can't seem to find them. They might have lost their accreditation or may not offer it in English anymore. I know there was a nurse midwife and anesthesia program in English? This was a year ago so I'm not 100% sure.

There may have been English masters programs in the past at the Interamericana system but there certainly aren't any now. Interamericana in Arecibo offers a nurse anesthetist masters but it is in Spanish. There are a few people in my class that speak Spanish and plan to stay for that program.

And I did forget that there is a school in Caguas that has a nurse practitioner masters in English. But a couple of the classes are in Spanish. That is the only English masters I know of and I don't have details.

Bet Kevano you are looking for a direct entry Masters and there are not any of those on the island.

Are there any day time programs in English? Whether BA or Associate?

Nope, unfortunately only Spanish during the day. I really wish the classes were during the day but I think they do it this way as to also give the Puerto Ricans that have day jobs and opportunity to do the program at night.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, I have the application for the nursing program at Inter. but I was wondering if I need to apply through the actual school??? Like, can I get accepted for the nursing program but then since I never sent in an application to the actual school, be denied??? Help!

Designer Mommy? World Traveling yogi?

I only filled out one application. It was two sided and it was for the school. I did not fill out an application for the nursing dept. Maybe that is new.

But like Belle said you will get in so don't stress. Everyone will get in.

About the school catalog question. I went to 5 schools (some were study abroad) for over 15 years. There was no way I could get my hands on a catoluge from 15 years ago. So I just sent them the info for my religious studies classes so I could be waived from Christian Faith. By the way for those of you that need Christian Faith and/or History of Puerto Rico, do them online. They are a cake walk online. Especially History of Puerto Rico. If you buckled down and did nothing else you could finish the course in a weekend and then perhaps one other weekend for the "book report." It was the easiest course I have ever taken.

Nope. You don't need anything. If you start the non accelerated BSN without a single class it will take 3 years. If you have a few general ed classes it will take 2.5 years. And people with a fair number of general ed classes were able to catch up with our class and will graduate with us.

Thanks so much for the reply. Do you request to get into the accelerated program? How long is the accelerated ASN?

If you have a Bachelors you will be in the accelerated program. If you have all or almost all your GE finished you can also be in the accelerated program but I believe that takes a little more effort and convincing.

The accelerated ADN is 11 months. August 1 until June 29th. That is if they offer pediatrics in the summer but they have been offering it in the summer now at least for the past 3 years, maybe longer. And now that their ADN is accredited I am sure they will offer it every summer. The accelerated BSN is 22 months.

i will be attending umet officially and was wondering if anybody was looking for a roommate? How much? and how far is it from the school i wont have a car so this is important.!!!!

Yay another classmate!
