exactly what I am doing...Look up the BRN of CA (if you can't simply google it then go under "region" tab then click US and there is a "CA nursing programs" and one of the stickys is the CA BRN)
and its all divided into cert. programs ADN programs, BSN etc...
They have the schools website, city, and phone number (i think) and all schools on there is accredited too
What I suggest you do is to find all schools in a 30-60 mile radius (trust me, its hard to get in so up your chances for applying more)
go to their website look at the pre-reqs, do them, and apply to those
that is what I am doing
sorry for all the parenthesizes lol

As for my little bit of knowledge that I have at schools. I just got on the waitlist at Solano City College in Fairfield and am currently #531. They estimate it to be a 2-3 year waitlist.
Sacramento City College and American River college have ADN programs and are lottery.
Napa Community college is waitlist as well
Santa Rosa Junior College is based of merit and has neither a waitlist or lottery
seriously 2-3 year wait list? ugh I do not wanna be sitting around waiting for that long...and I can't apply till I get my pre-requisite done right?
yup depending on the college you can not apply until you finish all your pre-reqs. Some will let you get away with 1-2 classes while you are going through the application process but that is as close as you can cut it.
Just handle your pre-reqs and make sure you do well... take it step by step
ridiculous that schools with a waitlist wont let you apply while you do your pre-reqs i mean say you have everything done when you get your pre-reqs done and you still have to wait 2-3 years to get in.
if that was the case everywhere (which its not, thank god)
but you might as well get your bachelors in some stupid major like art and get your RN while in a masters in nursing program lol

Hi, Did you know that waiting list has already moved ahead? My # is 523. Couple days ago I went to Health Department and they said my has moved about 44 spots ahead. They will start sending letter in October. Also said, they are talking 44 to 48 students in the fall only.

I am currently taking all my pre-requisites to get into a nursing program but I am afraid of all of the talk about waiting lists, so when applying i'm going to try to apply to as many different schools I can. Any advice of which nursing programs are best?
