Nursing Programs In California
yup depending on the college you can not apply until you finish all your pre-reqs. Some will let you get away with 1-2 classes while you are going through the application process but that is as close as you can cut it. Just handle your pre-reqs and make sure you do well... take it step by step

What would you do?
Yeah I am trying to stay positive and keep my head up. I have just been working my behind of these past two years trying to keep my grades up and working full time and I feel like I have not really moved anywhere since my GPA is still so low. I plan on doing what you said and applying EVERYWHERE I can and hopefully getting in somewhere. AT the same time I will most likely quit my job and go back to school full time this coming spring semester at city college just in case I do not get in anywhere this coming application period

Thanks for the response! I just posted something similar to this a second ago. As for city colleges, I am currently turning my application into both SacCity and American River college. They are lottery and my chances are very slim on getting in. Currently on the waitlist at Solano but am #531 and have no intention of waiting 2-3 years to get into a program. As for my science courses I am pretty sure I have above a 3.0.. Basically I am being impatient because my parents are getting old and have many some health issues. So the sooner I start my career the sooner I can help them. If it comes down to me moving to Florida if I get into a school just as remington, I would rather take that and finish the program in 1 year, then possibly waiting up to 3 years to get into a program and another 2 years to finish.

Nursing Programs In California
Here is the link if you have not yet found it: Board of Registered Nursing - RN Programs As for my little bit of knowledge that I have at schools. I just got on the waitlist at Solano City College in Fairfield and am currently #531. They estimate it to be a 2-3 year waitlist. Sacramento City College and American River college have ADN programs and are lottery. Napa Community college is waitlist as well Santa Rosa Junior College is based of merit and has neither a waitlist or lottery

Been browsing through some of the threads on this forum and have found some useful information. Anyways I am pursuing the career of nursing as you all are and need some assistance with my current situation. Here is where I am at with everything: -24 year old, Male. currently reside in Davis, Ca. -Little to none health care experience (HCE) -Graduated from UC Davis w/ B.S. in Molecular and cellular Bio (MCB for short aka biochemisty) cGPA 2.635. During my time at Davis I never really looked into my future and school was not my priority at the time, as you all can see. This was two years ago and i have been working full time as a bartender/waiter while going to school part time at city college to finish up pre-reqs for nursing. During those two years I have received A's in Anatomy, physiology, human development: a life span, and pharmacology and B's in lower div English and an EMT basic class. (if you were wondering I already finished all the other pre-reqs at UCD) I really want to get my BSN somewhere but 99% of the colleges require a 3.0 cumulative GPA just to apply. I have looked through colleges all across the United State and have only come across a few that I am eligible to ONLY apply to. Here is what I have found: -CSU San Marco -West Coast University in Southern California -Remington College in Florida -Touro University in Nevada Basically I am trying to be as realistic as possible and thinking about the "what if i dont get in anywhere?" I am currently taking Korean 401 and interpersonal communications while I am continuing to work and support myself. However, I have come to the conclusion that it is time to just quit work and go back to school full time. It is so discouraging because even with the past two years of doing well my cGPA is only ~2.80 because I have 190 units at UCD. Do you all think I will possibly get in anywhere? Are there any other schools that I am eligible to apply for that I have not found? Any advice? Opinions? Anything and everything will be helpful. Sorry about the essay I wrote and i am super thankful for those have taken time out to read and respond.
