Nursing program help?! Chamberlain, mcfatter, Miami Dade?!

Nurses Career Support

Published

Okay guys I'm extremely confused on this Nursing journey. I already have a BS in Exercise Science and Health Promotion since December and now I want to pursue Nursing.

I work 8-5 Monday-Friday, so I need a program where I can take Evening classes (that cancels out Sheridan Tech)

i love Chamberlain but let's be honest, that price for the accelerated BSN program is Expensive and trying to weigh out my other options before I jump and register with them.

broward college has a waiting list, and I haven't heard about Miami dades accelerated ADN program

ans honestly if I can avoid doing a LPN just to have to go back for my BSN and I can do an accelerated track that would be great

i don't even have a problem with learning online but sometimes I feel like instruction learning would be better..

so im guessing my question is which is the best way, no waiting, no high gpa requirement that I can start this nursing career in a few months ?

thank you

I'm wondering if pursuing an ABSN while working a full-time job is actually do-able. It wouldn't be for programs in my area - these programs are essentially full-time (and then some) ... that's the "accelerated" part of the deal. Part time accelerated is an oxymoron.

Hey, I think so,,as for me I have to go from morning shift to evening shifts to accommodate my morning schedule classes. I used to work two jobs and do school with my first BS degree, I'm sure you can do it, but would that be recommended? lol that's another answer!

Hello. I've done extensive research myself also because this is such a huge choice to make. The first school I recommend if you are wanting to start ASAP and are concerned with prereqs, grades etc is West Coast University. That is an accredited BSN program and there is no waiting list. I believe classes start every 7 wks. They are a for profit school so very pricey also. Their entrance exam is the TEAS and I believe you oly need a 65 or something to pass. Broward college AS doesnt do waiting lists. If someone doesnt get in for a semester they applied for, they have to reapply. Their entrance exam is the HESI with 75% passing on all 5 subjects tested and you need A&P1 &2 with the labs, eng comp 1 & college math. There's also MDC which is an AS and their next enrollment is due May I think and starts in August, Chamberlain, Nova, FIU & Barry which all have their own requirements also that are all accredited. Hope this helps some.

If you really need evebing classes I've only heard if that for asn programs. You can then do an rn to bsn online. Every accelerated bsn I'm familiar with discouraged working. Asn programs are usually cheaper.
