For anyone considering ULL, I highly recommend it. I have enjoyed the few classes I have taken and really learned a lot. They do require you to read the assigned reading, and to write discussion questions/papers. I just completed Nursing in a Disaster which required reading 2 chapters and watching 2 Power Point presentations each week, along with one quiz and one discussion forum post and response. If you are self-motivated and learn well by reading and able to apply what you have read, then online learning will be a good choice. ULL is well-organized and presented and works well for me being a full-time nurse. The instructors have been very firm, pleasant, and don't spoon-feed you. They expect you to read all expectations and requirements from the syllabus and to not ask redundant questions. They don't seem to tolerate that very well and are not super-friendly. They are very professional though. I highly recommend ULL for those capable of independent learning. The cost is very affordable and I am pleased with the quality of education.

So they received my transcripts about 2 weeks ago and I'm already registered. Not bad at all

Really interested in all that's been said.:) You are inspiring me and I will be following !!!! I'm an " old nurse " ha ha. I know that finally getting my BSN will be in the cards, hopefully this coming year. I've req my transcripts just for personal use thus far. Been so long, I can't remember all those classes. Well, I remember most of them but double checking what I didn't do. I tested out of math... will that help ? Was wondering how much your textbooks cost on top of the tuition? Anyone having to get a few prereqs accomplished prior to start ? Did you go to the local community college or are there some on line that are cheaper than using ULL ? Is there a community practicum? Sorry for all the questions ! All of your recent posts have encouraged me that I can do this ! The updates on how each class is structured and what is expected ( quizzes, length of papers, powerpoints) is so helpful. Thanks!

7 more weeks to go! Will be starting the capstone class Monday.

Just finished up Health and Physical Assessment NU355, and Role Integration NU396. Professional Role Integration was not difficult at all, and was very informative. That being said, I hope Health and Physical Assessment is revamped. The class was made more difficult then it needed to be. The quizzes were extremely and painfully brutal! The writing assignments weren't too bad though. The final project was a video of an assessment we had to do on one area of the body. Instructor assigned the body area. I started the first week of July last year(2013) and I can't believe I will be finished in 7 weeks, it has gone by so quickly. If you're thinking about doing it-don't hesitate just do it!

Good for you Shuggypie!! I'm jealous!! I just finished the first 2 courses and as you had said, everything is do-able so far. I will start evidence based practice on Monday and can only hope I will survive!

Just paid for the first 2 classes. Uggh. How's the first 2classes? Lots of papers, quizzes? Nervous !

Shuggypie can you send me a message? I would really appreciate some feedback... you can reach me at [email protected]

UPDATE:

I applied with no trouble. Filled out the application and paid $25. The next day I was contacted by an enrollment specialist. The enrollment specialist sent me a very detailed email on what was needed and where / how to send the information. The enrollment specialist stayed in constant contact with me and kept me updated on the progress of things / next steps.

Once all of my transcripts arrived they were turned over to an advisor who reviewed them. All of my classes were accepted. I only have to take the nursing classes and 1 literature class. I never took Lit so that makes sense. I want to state that I received a very clear plan. At first they had me taking 2 classes at a time but I told the advisor no. I want to take 1 class at a time. I am a working adult and I am tired. It will take me around 15 months to complete.

The courses are 7 weeks long with a 1 week break in between them. There is a Christmas and New Year holiday break which is 5 weeks.

So, far I am very impressed with ULL. I start June 30, 2014. I'll keep you all updated.

Hi. I am enrolled in Ohio University RN TO BSN and am in Professional Transitions to Nursing. The courses are 5 weeks long (starting 4th week now), with 4 papers within 5 weeks!! I have mainted an A, but from what I have read I would really like ULL. I have sent in my transcripts and they are reviewing them now. Can someone who is enrolled in ULL please contact me so I could ask you a few questions to find out if I want to make the switch from OU to ULL? I would really like traditional quizzes and only reading 2 chapters a week if that is really how it is at ULL. Also, if there is only 2-3 papers within the 7 week period that would be awesome as well.

Danij100,

I also attended OU's program before attending ULL. OU was not a good fit for me. The papers were just overwhelming for me. I like ULL because even though there are papers, usually they are no more than 2 papers per class, some classes less, and the papers are usually 2-3 pages long. I liked the fact that papers were only a portion of your grade, and discussion posts and quizzes were also a part of your grade. Also, you only respond to one student in the discussion post. I'm in my last class, and have found the program more to my liking than OU. I did take, I think 3 or 4 classes at OU and then got so frustrated and gave up. Feel free to PM if you need more info.

Hi shuggypie. Thanks for all the info. I tried to PM you, but it won't let me because I haven't had at least 15 posts/comments. Could you PM me? Or do you have an email?

Hi everyone. My start date is June 30. Does anybody have the syllabus for NURS 354 by any chance? I would just like to read over it and maybe get a bit of a head start.
