Traditional schools accepting Ecelsior degree?

Forgive me if this has already been asked....but I am considering doing the Excelsior program for my ADN. What I was wondering is do "traditional" or state schools/universities recognize the ADN degree given by Excelsior if I wanted to get my BSN?

I continued with Excelsior for the BSN, but I know that many Excelsior grads have earned higher degrees and/or become advanced practice nurses through tradiational programs. Transferability of credits is something that's just going to vary from school to school. I'm applying to law school right now, so I'll let you know how that's received in a few months. :)

I'm a BSN student at the University of Texas so I can confirm that EC ADN grads are accepted here.

I know several other EC ADN grads who have either graduated from or are currently in several of UT campus masters and nurse practitioner programs.

I know one who got accepted and graduated from CRNA school (after getting the BSN) and is now working as a CRNA.

I also can confirm that Oklahoma's university system (OU) accepts EC ADN grads for their BSN completion programs because I got accepted there as well, but chose not to attend their program and go to UT instead.

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences accepts degrees from them in the RN to BSN program.

Good luck!

Thanks!

I did call a couple of the potential colleges and so far all of them recognize it! yea! Just trying to do my homework about EC! ;)

That's smart, Megan. If you think of other questions, feel free to ask away.

Well, I didn't do my homework when it came to LPN/RN school and wish I would have. Live and learn! I am sure I will have lots more questions! Thanks!
