Please help with my RN-BSN dilemma (NY area)

Hey everyone, brand new here to all nurses.

So I recently got my ADN and am working currently. I am currently enrolled @ SUNY Delhi for my RN to BSN. The issue with SUNY Delhi, which is a common theme among others I've spoken to, is that it is VERY work intensive, a lot more so than others in the NY area, and I have experienced this thus far. It also takes the full on 2 years and there is no way around that. The reason I chose Delhi is because it was very affordable and there were no known problems with accreditation (which I found at some other colleges like *cough* chamberlain). Problem is, I mightve chosen Delhi too fast, as a lot of nursing friends are telling me their programs are not bad at all, and most will finish sooner then myself, and they are not stressed out by the workload. I thoroughly busted my butt getting my ADN and it seems unnecesary to put myself through that again for my BSN. Problem is, the 2 schools Mercy college and ramapo college, that my friends go to, are traditional semester setups so at the end of the day if I did transfer, it would be a waste of time as I would start in the fall.

My question: Does anyone know of any ***reputable*** RN-BSN programs in the NY area, or online programs anywhere in the country, that are setup in the 7 week module (this is how Delhi is setup) type system?? I would need this to be the case so I could transfer without it being a complete waste of time.

I am getting my RN to BSN through University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It is completely online. Just started another semester. I should graduate in October 2016 as I am taking the summer off. The semesters are currently 7 weeks with a week off between each semester, however, I just found out that come fall they will be going to 8 week semesters. This apparently is going to eliminate 1 semester each year, so 5 semesters per year instead of 6. I haven't officially received anything from ULL stating this yet though. ULL is very reasonably priced and the workload is not too bad. There is no group work. You are assigned groups for a teaching assistant with each class, but everything is done on your own which is nice.

I completed my BSN through , . Its completely online and much more affordable than any other program I researched. Its an accelerated program allowing you to move as fast or a slow as you want to through each course. I held a fulltime job, I have 3 kids and was able to finish this program in 13 months, pretty much stress free. Some courses took me 2 months to finish and others took 3 weeks. I was also very lenient about school so I could be active in my kids sports schedules. I had great support when I needed it, but its important to evaluate your self motivation to be a successful independent student. Many nurses I work with hated the idea of too much freedom and would never complete a course without the traditional timed schedules and deadlines. I personally love the way WGU gave me the opportunity to arrange my studies according to my own lifestyle. In the end, I spent 13,000$ total and I have an accredited BSN degree. Check them out. I highly recommend them.
