University of Louisiana-Lafayette online RN-BSN
I just recently took Theatre 161. Unfortunately I did not have a class to transfer for this. The workload seemed like a lot initially. I had actually enrolled previously then dropped it because the workload seemed like a lot and I was also taking College Algebra. It turned out to not be that bad of a class. I could kick myself for not just taking it initially because I would be done now. I just have Capstone yet which I am taking next semester. You do have to go to a live theatre performance which has to be during the time you are enrolled in the class and then write a paper on it. I did this right away to get it done, but it's not due until the beginning of the last week. There are I believe two other papers you have to write as well, 4 tests, and quite a few discussion postings. Like 2-3 a week and you have to respond to two students for each discussion posting. I think this is why I thought the workload was so intense, because with the nursing classes it's just a response to one student. However, they are basically opinion based responses so unless you are using information from somewhere, you don't have to use references, which helped immensely! Good luck!

Please help with my RN-BSN dilemma (NY area)
I am getting my RN to BSN through University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It is completely online. Just started another semester. I should graduate in October 2016 as I am taking the summer off. The semesters are currently 7 weeks with a week off between each semester, however, I just found out that come fall they will be going to 8 week semesters. This apparently is going to eliminate 1 semester each year, so 5 semesters per year instead of 6. I haven't officially received anything from ULL stating this yet though. ULL is very reasonably priced and the workload is not too bad. There is no group work. You are assigned groups for a teaching assistant with each class, but everything is done on your own which is nice. I highly recommend the program. Here is a nice thread on the program https://allnurses.com/nursing-online-distance/university-of-louisiana-695600.html Good luck!

I did not have a communication class and had to take human communication at ULL. It wasn't a bad class. I hate writing and public speaking. There was no public speaking or recording yourself doing a speech. There were several discussion postings and quizzes. You also had to do an outline for a speech.

I took Stats at ULL. Certainly wasn't an easy class, but managed to get a "B". When I took it, it was two 7 week semesters. I think it's only one 7 week semester now, so I can't say I'd take it with another class. You are pretty much teaching yourself and the professor wasn't the greatest. Exams are proctored...either with examity via webcam or you can go somewhere and be proctored. You have to have college algebra before taking stats at ULL. I also took College Algebra at ULL and it was also two 7 week semesters...different professor, but also wasn't the greatest.

May be a little too late for you now, but 353 is just an orientation class that you can honestly have done in a couple hours. 354 you have a paper and discussion posting due weekly. I took 353, 354, and college algebra together. I think I have heard that Nurs 327 is a heavier course load, but I'm not sure. I haven't taken it yet. I'd be curious how it goes for you if you decided to take it. I'm going to be dropping down to one class a semester after this current semester.

It must be taken by itself.

Does anyone know how much ProctorU is per test through ULL?

Is this reasonable for first assignment?
I'm new to travel nursing and I'm considering taking my first assignment in Houston, TX. I have 4 years of outpatient oncology experience and this would be in a clinic setting. Does this seem reasonable? $21/hour (40 hours/wk) - taxed $35/day M&I ($245/wk) - non-taxed I'm debating whether or not to take their housing or take the stipend of $1550/month (paid biweekly). I'm not sure I want a roommate though! This seems low to me, but this is my first travel assignment and it's in a clinic vs. inpatient. I would also have to pay for parking at the hospital, which isn't cheap ($200? per month). I am considering flying and just using public transportation and may rent a car occasionally. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
