Online Certification Courses

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Has anyone had problems with fraudulent online courses? I started a course recently online and it was going fairly well, there were some problems. The email contact answered one email but did not answer the specific question I had and I haven't heard from him since (he is based in Florida I believe). Any advice about what to do?

So my main question at this point is - is there a reputable company online that I can go to for some advanced RN training certification courses like el sevier? What's everyone's experiences? Thank you.

What kinds of courses are you looking for?

Regarding your current course, you can dispute the charge if you paid by credit card, and also check with the Better Business Bureau.

Im also looking for a reputable online company that provides advanced RN certifications. Did you ever find any? This should not be this hard.

I hope you found some. Thank you.

Thanks. The BBB was unable to help.

HI,

No, I never found any that were exclusively online. I did find a training that had a large online component with an in-person kind of check off scenario. The online training was one of the best I've ever had in anything, the in person check-off - orders of magnitude less so! In Clearwater, Florida.

I'm still unsure what you are asking about. Is it to become a certified nurse for example Certified neonatal or oncology nurse? Or do you mean certifications like PALS or ACLS?

My previous experience has been that nurse certifications are never tested online, always in testing centers (similar to Prometric or Pearson).

Certifications like CPR or PALS can be done online partly but if there is no skill demonstration, the different entities (AAP & AHA) will not recognize them. In fact, my hospital uses an online Healthstream version of the NRP to do the written exam part. But you don't get the card unless you show up and do the skill demo and super-code.
