Hey I am woried which path i should go to nursing or medicine? I currently attend UC davis, but i wish to transfer out and go to sfsu and persue a BSN and then go to an anesthesit masters program and get my certification there, and become a CRNA. Or should i keep attending UC davis in hopes i can get into a medical school and then become a doctor??? My plans were to become a doctor but i really messed up my first year at davis, and med school are hard to get into, and i was wondering wat i would do if i didnt get into a med school, so should i stop while i am ahead and go to a nursuing program, cause i dont want to go back to school if my plans of being a doctor fails.

I need advice.

What if i get bashelors in neurobiology, and then get my masters in nursing can i still be eligible for a CRNA program??? with an MSN??
To be eligible for a CRNA program, you'll need to earn the BSN degree and accrue several years of floor nursing experience as a staff RN on a critical care unit. There's no way around this. It would be frightening to me if someone with absolutely no floor nursing experience were allowed to become a CRNA...

UCSF offers a program which gives someone that oppertunity;

As an alternative entry to our traditional two-year Master of Science in Nursing program (which is designed chiefly for graduates of BSN programs), UCSF School of Nursing offers the three-year Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN).

MEPN is for persons without previous nursing preparation but who hold a baccalaureate/bachelor's degree in another field. In other words, a B.A. or B.S. degree in a major field other than nursing.

so if i finish this program, and have had more than 3 years of floor experience will i be eligible for a CRNA program?

Tymer, you ARE NOT LISTENING TO US!!!! You will HAVE to be an RN to get vent experience (MINIMUM OF A COUPLE YEARS!!!!!!!!!) to get into a CRNA program.

YOU NEED TO RETHINK THIS ENDEAVOUR!!!!

GO see a career counselor or get some vocational tests. I hate to think of anybody putting all that work into ONE thing and then hating it once they get into it!!!

Obviously, you are not listening to what we are telling you on here or you would have noted that EVERYONE on this thread is telling you to find something else to do!!! Pay attention to what has already been said and what we are telling you now!!!!!!!!!

alright thanks for the help, and i will see a career counselor..sorry.. i can be really ignorant advice sometimes

THANK you - I hope going to a career counselor will help give you some good ideas about a suitable career for you!

Good luck to you!
