Nursing Maths

Hi guys, Im Lacie and Im writing from Sydney, Australia and i was wondering if there was anyone out there in the middle of their Enrolled nursing program?

Im hoping to get into the program this coming June but we have to do a exam in maths and comprehension and do well to get accepted.

Im very worried about the exam as I haven't sat for an exam in eleven years and I sooooooo badly want to be accepted. I want this more than anything. I sooooooo badly want to be a nurse. I was wondering if there was anyone who might be able to shed some light on the exam and questions they ask u? any help whould be appreciated.

hi, my name is Rafael (call me rafa). I am finding the forum really helpful. I am taking the entrance exam on April 3rd in NYC and I am extremely anxious. I have studied using the Barron's book and i decided to order the book you are talking about by Mary McDonald yesterday. I hope it would arrive soon since I only have 2 weeks. I have been out of school for 10 years. I am Spanish and with a Degree in Nursing in the UK but I want to get a license in NYC where I live.

Did you guys find the test easy or difficult?

After studying and taking the practice test I pretty much knew what to expect, although it wasn't a piece of cake. I found the test to be somewhere in the middle of easy and difficult. I know I could have done better, but my main problem was in the math section with the time limit. I felt like I had to rush my way through and since you don't get a calculator you really have to know everything. The good thing about the book is you time yourself and they tell you how much time for how many questions. So, as I said I knew what to expect. I felt the science was tough, but I did much better than I thought. Brush up on word problems in the math section because there are a ton. Know your ratios and basic algebra and you should be fine. The practice tests in the vocabulary really helped and the science section. I basically did everything in the book and felt pretty comfortable going in. It isn't as bad as you think it is going to be. As long as you don't cram the night before you'll be fine.
