Is it worth it?

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hi everyone!

i will get straight to the point. (Excuse the grammar)

i am a 34 year old female living in Texas. I have a 5 year old bribery felony charge.

i have a few of my basics completed and because my science courses were taken over 5 years ago, I'll have to retake those.(A&P etc)

I would love to become a nurse someday and I understand I will have a few extra steps I will need to take.

my problem, fear...

- I complete & pay for all pre-requisites to just be denied by BON for Nursing program

- get approved for Nursing school but hospitals don't hire felons.

Does anyone have any TEXAS advice? From applying to getting hired.

anytging would help.

I want to register for Fall classes that start Aug 28th.

No-one can answer that for you with certainty. Check with your BON and the school you are interested in first. If they give you the go ahead, there is still no guarantee that you will not have to jump through hoops to test when the time comes. If you have read anything on here you will know that the BON can be fickle and no two cases are treated the same way. Sorry but that's the world we live in.

You have a charge or a conviction? Five years seems like a long time to only be charged with something.
