nursing license question

i am 35 years old and living in florida. in my 20s i was arrested for dui twice. the first one was when i was 20 and it was reduced to reckless driving. the second was when i was 29 and i was convicted of dui.

heres the question. i was wondering if this would stand in the way of becoming a nurse in florida? (getting into nursing school or sitting for the boards)

This (and all other questions regarding licensure w/a criminal charge background) must be answered by the BON of the state in which you seek licensure.

ALL CASES are judged on a case by case basis. Which means your two duis may not be resolved in the same fashion as someone else's. Much depends on the age that they were committed, how much time has passed since the last one, what actions that you have taken to resolve the problem behavior, and your attitude in communications with the BON.

One thing that may pose a problem is that while one occurred when you were quite young, yet you repeated this behavior 9 years later, at a time when the behavior should have resolved.
