Nursing in KY with juvenile record

Hi.. To make the details clear, I live in Kentucky, I'll be 18 next month, and when I was 16 I was caught for petty theft (first and only time). I wasn't arrested with cuffs or anything but I assume I was processed the same way; the parents had to come pick me up and fill out some paperwork, then I was assigned a Court Designated Worker to meet with the next morning. She said because I was a good student in my high school (apparently she spoke to my principal) and because I had never been in trouble before, she offered me something called Juvenile Diversion, and informed me that by accepting the diversion agreement I would be placed on probation for 6 months and if I did not get in any more trouble, the petty theft would be "expunged" from my record when I turned 18 and that I would start with a "clean slate". I signed a paper accepting the agreement, and then completed the probation successfully and received a letter from her informing me my probation was finished and that I had completed it without violation of the agreement.

I am in a CNA class and a background check via Verified Credentials is required before students are allowed in the clinical facility where we will be practicing skills. We don't start clinicals until after I turn 18, so I am hoping to wait and get the background check done after my birthday in hopes of my record being clean by then? I'm not sure if a juvenile misdemeanor would even appear on a 48-dollar background check in the first place, but I'm really nervous about this. Any insight is appreciated.

However, keep in mind that BONs often play by their own set of rules, and depending on the BON you may have to disclose juvenile, sealed and/or expunged records to them when you apply for your CNA certificate. The best source to answer that question is the KY BON, so you may want to check their website or drop them an email (anonymous if you prefer) and ask now, so you can be prepared.

Thank you. I checked the KY BON, and on the FAQ page, it specifies that any convictions that occurred as a juvenile do not have to be reported when applying for your Registered Nurse license. I haven't looked at the Medicaid Nurse Aid but I assume the same rule would apply, hopefully. If the KY BON doesn't care about juvenile records then hopefully the clinical sight won't either if it happens to appear on my background check :pThank you!
