We used http://www.findarticles.com/PI/index.jhtml a lot in my last semester of nursing school (had to turn in an article a week for leadership/management class). I think most of them were free.
you should be able to access CINAHL through your school's library--it has many full-text articles. If your are not familiar with this service a librarian or nursing professor could help you--at my school we can access this from home through the school's website.
Another site is:
http://www.nursingcenter.com -there many full-text articles, but there is a small fee to view them.
and have you tried Google?
Check this site re how to find web-based nursing information + invisable websources
You can for search articles on the National Library of Medicine website, PubMed:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi.
There you can get titles and abstracts. Once you've identified the articles you want you can order them through LoansomeDoc. You can order full copies of the articles from any of hundreds of medical libraries. There is of course a fee. Depending on the institution it ranges from $7 to $15 per article. You need to arrange an account with the institution before hand but once that is established you can receive your articles by US mail, fax or e-mail.
LoansomeDoc information can be found at:
CINAHL will be your best bet. The professional/technical nurse discussion spans a lot of years and was more active in the past. For a fee CINAHL can get you copies of every article they index. One stop shopping, if you will.
If you end up paying for articles, be sure the articles you request are pertinent. If you want so help with search strategy or formulating questions ask your librarian at school, use CINAHL's search instruction materials, or PM me and I'll help you get started.

To my fellow nurses out there...I hope someone can help me..I am currently enrolled in the first semester of my BSN program and I have a paper due soon!! We have to compare & constrast the technical nurse vs the professional nurse. Does anyone know of a website where you can actually download entire journal articles. With my busy life it's difficult to get to the library..Any assistance would be appreciated... Thank you all in advance Linda
