2012 nursing jobs and training updates

Good day fellow nurses! I just want to give some updates regarding some hospitals that I happened to visit last December 2011. I hope many will be willing to share some info too. Let's help each other out. =)

Chinese Gen - accepting applications ONLY if you graduated from their school

San Lazaro - deadline of applications for RNHeals here was unfortunately last December. Too bad I didn't make it. Ha-ha

Medical City - as usual, logging on their log sheet is the first step if you're a commoner. If with backer, expect the process to be faster. (Too bad I don't know anyone haha) Check out their page on FB. The Medical City: Career Opportunities. Training for the next batch will tentatively start by first quarter so waiting for another 3 months is a no-brainer especially if you haven't had any exams and interviews yet.

St. Lukes (QC) - according to someone I know, training would probably start by January. Tentative.

Manila Doctors - HR is accepting applications but that is for pooling (subject to training with a fee).

NKTI - accepting applications BUT is very strict with requirements. Minimum of 6 months paid hosp experience from at least a hundred bed cap hospital. Geez! That's where my requirements flanked. I have all the others except the bed cap of the hospital where I came from. See NKTI's website. nkti.gov.ph

__Please feel free to correct any information if you know/believe is misleading. I hope others will try to contribute too in this thread. God bless us nurses and Happy new job hunting year! Ha-ha

The best thing to do actually is to just pass your resume at any hospital you pass by. Bring photocopies of the usual requirements such as TOR, diploma, board certificate, PRC license. If you already passed your resume at that particular hospital and it has been a year or so, you can resubmit again in case they are for hiring.

Instead of waiting at home for calls, you can try to attend seminars or even specialised trainings so you can improve your resume as well as your personal knowledge and skills. I underwent BLS, IVT, and Hemodialysis trainings while waiting for a call. Right now I finished my panel interview and I am up for a pre-employment training at a tertiary hospital.

During the interview, they did ask how I spent my time post-graduation, since it has been almost a year after graduation and 6 months after they released the 2011 NLE results. I said I continued to enrich myself and pursue career growth while waiting for the big break, and they recommended me to be included in their pre-employment training (free) and up for evaluation.

It is costly and hard on the wallet to apply, but the wait is well worth it.

hey Miss Caisaki, thanks for all the info... but can I still pass my resume if I only got a claim stub of my lisence? I'm still waiting 'til May 12 before I can actually claim my PRC lisence... Im about to finish my IVT training at RMC this coming March 29-31... and hopefully my BLS and ECG this 1stweek of april... and is it also true that hospitals asking for resume only (w/o photocopies of credentials) has no or little assurance of being hired... thank you in advance.

Hi nash11, I don't know the contact number of the HR as we only passed our credentials personally. They have a SMS number which they use for informing everyone about schedules, exams, notifications and updates, but that number does not accept replies and is similar to Globe or Smart text advisories like 2346. They actually prefer personal appearances opposed to calls.

vlademyr, I'm not really sure regarding the claim stub, but some hospitals/institutions like Perpetual Help Medical Center and Philippine Kidney Dialysis Foundation accepts a certificate of board passing / certificate of board rating in lieu of the license if not available yet. I make it a point to search for the list of requirements for the hospitals, and so far I have not encountered a hospital that only asks for a resume. If ever they ask for the resume only, you have to make sure that your other credentials are listed there such as memberships with ID numbers and expiry dates, trainings attended, and other important documents.

It doesn't necessarily mean there is little assurance, they just don't want to be flooded with too many papers when they screen out qualified applicants. Thus, your resume MUST be a good summary of all your credentials.

Thanks Caisaki. ^^

I'm planning to submit an application at St. Lukes Q.C., Cardinal Santos and Medical city. Do you think they are still hiring or accepting applications for training? Been submitting applicstions since last year.

hii. can you send me where to address the letter of intent for sta. ana hosp. thanks! and are they only accepting residents of manila? thanks!

St. Luke's Medical Center QC - freeze hiring as of last week.

Cardical Santos Medical Center - (second hand info only) accepting applications, but applicant must have at least 6 months exp (I don't know if paid exp or volunteer will do) from a tertiary hospital, IVT and BLS/ACLS license.

The Medical City - logging on the sheet in the HRD is the first step. They'll contact you if you meet their initial screening requirements. Probably based on your board rating and reputation of school where you came from. That is because that's the only information that they'll be asking you to log other than your name, contact number and from what batch (08, 09, 10, etc.)

Oh i see. Will try cardinal and medical city. Thank you!

Hi anne j! So are you now employed in Capitol Med? I'm currently under the RNHEALS program and deployed in rural areas (community nursing) but I'm trying to search on hospitals esp in the metro where I can possibly apply after my contract. Thanks! :)

I'm not entirely sure, because our batch just started today. It might take some time before the next batch starts. They did tell us that in order to qualify for the program, you have to have a board rating of at least 80%, have good english communication skills, pass the nursing aptitude test and pass the interview.

It was fast in my case, since I was included in the last applicants before closing this batch. I hope so too, upon reviewing their program with the OIC we realized that the burden is a bit hard for some of us. To be able to be promoted to probationary rank (we are now in "trainee rank"), we have to be able to safely and efficiently handle 10 patients each per day without any issues. Aside from examinations and evaluations that are somewhat elimination in nature. Once you are probationary, you are officially hired.

They said the last training batch started with 20 trainees, and only 3 were hired. I really need to study. :(

Hello caisaki! :) Could you please tell me what are the topics included in your exam when you applied in UPHSD Medical Center. And is it hard? Passed resume- after 2 days exam- panel interview- psych exam. Is this process correct? what are included in the psych exam? I hope you could help me. I am planning to pass my resume there. It is very confusing for me. I haven't pass my resume to any hospital. I just finished my 3 day IVT traning. I took my board exam last dec 2011 and passed it. And my prc id will be release on May 25. I only have my claim stub. I hope that you will reply my message. Thank you very much and Godbless! :)

That was how my process went there, but my batchmates and I differ in terms of time. Some of them passed their requirements last December, some of them in January. I think I just made it to the cutoff. The exam covers everything actually, from basic skills to medications, MS and psych. CHN is not included as I remember. They accept the printable form of your board exam grades if you don't have the license yet, but I think for now they are not receiving applications as I have heard.

There are many hospitals nearby who accept applicants, such as St. Dominic Medical Center, Alabang Med, LPDH, Las Pinas District Hospital as well as Zarrate. Don't stop at just one.

These hospitals that you have listed are they accepting applicants who only have claim stubs? Are you also a dec 2011 passer? Thank you very much for your earlier reply. :)

guys you may want to try sta rosa hospital and medical center in Laguna, beside enchanted kingdom, but you have to be train by them, it is a 5-month non renewable contract, the good thing is they are the one who will pay you, just pass your resume at the HR,
