For personal reasons, I have been unable to start my journey in my nursing career. I graduated in May 2012 with my nursing degree. I will be starting my journey to get a nursing job next week. Has anyone had experience in getting a nursing job after a year out of school? And was it a difficult task? Thank you for your input.:)

I graduated then took my NCLEX 1 year later, got a job within 30 days of passing NCLEX... I was honest in my cover letter (but brief) about my reason for my yr off. I do not recommend it to anyone! But if you have to do it, you can make it work. My son had health problems but I was able to show it would not continue (no fear if me missing work in the future). Honesty is all you can do at this point.

I did not get my first nursing job until 18 months out of school! Keep your options open, look at clinics, health department, hospital, and all areas of nursing. You will find an area that you LOVE. Good luck!
Thank you for your input. I will definitely keep my mind open on my options!:)
