Anyone here worked at PGH before? Looks like they're hiring. While waiting out the retrogression, might as well, right?

Hi everyone! I also took the APCN exam last May 30 and I am very anxious right now as to what will be the result. What if I did not pass the exam? Does that mean that I am no longer qualified to continue on with the training? Or the exam is just a way for the nursing training office to assess our knowledge? If that is so, will all of us, who took the exam, have the guarantee of carrying on with the training EVEN if we do not pass the test? Anyone enlighten me please. I just could not overcome the thought of failing the exam as I am not so sure of my answers to some of the questions.

I hope someone can help.

yeah, it was too bad. hehehe. anyway, things happen for a reason. i hope you will make it. i do have a former classmate who took the exam unfortunately he knows the "certified true copy thing" he did not even mentioned it to us even though I am the one who informed him about the exam. hehe. Bitter? :p

i still want to take the apcn program i guess the next batch will be on February. it do have a big bearing in your staff application.:p

if you failed the exam, i guess you can take it again right? anyway, that's life. ^^

hi!im currently under APCN program.if you did not pass the exam,wait for those who passed to cancel and not to enroll in the program,you may get their slot if the dnet allows,just like some from us.Just wait for the result.If you're confident from your GWA and board rating,i think you have a big chance.the training is worth more than that 10k.this is the best training ground of all hospitals!but of course it depends mainly from you if your the kind who always seek for new the knowledge and skills!goodluck nurses!

i did take the exam this 30th of May as well...still keeping my fingers crossed. correct me if im wrong, results would be available on june 15 at 1pm, Nursing Service Office, right RNs?

@mrs. northmanRN... kudos to you! that's very nice of you for taking time to recall all those topics and post it here... with that kind of memory retention, i believe you might get a chance to get in!

@kvergeldedios: unfortunately only 45 out of 100+ who took the exam would be accepted for the training. they would summarize our grades on the board rating, GWA, RLE and the 50-item exam that we took. So the top 45 would be on the 31st APCN program.

I'd just like to share this info to all who took the exam... I was able to browse a list of the Calendar of Activities at the DNET office...and it states there that the start of 31st APCN program is on June 20.

Thanks for the info.. Whew! Let's just keep our fingers crossed. Gee.. I'll be leaving my post on my current job right now just for this training. :confused:

so what theyre gonna post on june 15 are the names of those who will be joining the apcn program? Is it already the summary of exam, gwa, board rating and not just merely the exam?

By God's grace, I passed too (happy dance) :clpty:

I was so ecstatic, I beamed at everyone on my way out of PGH. They probably thought I was high or crazy or somethin'. teeheehee.

I couldn't wipe the grin off my face.

On APCN exam: Aside from MSN, review Funda.
