Anyone here worked at PGH before? Looks like they're hiring. While waiting out the retrogression, might as well, right?
help! I'm about to take the NPE this coming November.
They changed the exam... it's now multiple choice... i have no idea what to expect.
Anyone ? hints? is it hard? how many items? which areas have to be studied? etc etc
The guy who handles the NPE application 'kindly' told us that 'the mortality rate in NPE is 90%'
that's just sheet :smackingf
I hope y'all would help. I and those that have yet to pass NPE would be grateful. :loveya:

I don't know if they changed the exam, i took mine last May and it was the same exam from the previous batches. Too bad I didn't know about this forum yet, though I was one of the few lucky ones who passed.
About the mortality rate, yup that's correct. i think we were close to 100 examines (or more? i don't know/cant recall) that time, a month later the exam they posted the result and only 7 or 8 managed to move on to the next round.
Just be prepared, study the basics and focus on the nursing procedures like you're reviewing for a skills inventory/nursing revalida exam. :)
Hope this helps! Good luck!
@thorabeech
they did... I was informed by the guy who handed the application for NPE and 3 pips who took their exam last month... they however were not big on details...
From what I've gathered, there are 33 multiple choice questions... some questions are awarded 2 points... total=50
I think the change has to do with the low passing rate.
thank you though :redpinkhe

@sunako : The application for the N1 position has already been closed since April 2011, since exam schedules have already been filled up all the way until Dec 2011. Inquire to DNRD/NSO early next year (Jan2012), if they'll reopen again.
