Old Age? Naaaaaaaa!

Nurses Humor

Published

:roll :roll :roll

The below are not my words, but words sent to me by a former patient's husband.........

well, just to say they/he probably had a "couple years on me" but it is catching up on all of us.......

I usually make it a point to not attach myself too personally with patient's/etc, but I am but human :)

so at the end of this, will try to post the file, etc. or whatever the computer term is, but will type the words.....from an

elderly point of humorist view'the pic's just add to the humour.....

but if it doesn't come through, just sing it to the tune of 'my favorite things'

"OLD AGE? NAAAAAAAAA!"

" Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting.

Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings.

Bundles of magazines tied up in string.

These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataract and hearing aids and glasses.

Polident and Fixo! dent and falst teeth in glasses.

Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings.

There are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak.

When the bones creak.

When the knees go bad.

I simply remember my favorite things.

And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions.

No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions.

Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring.

These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin'

Thin bones and fractures and ahir t! hat is thinin.

And we won't mention our short shrunken frames.

When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, when the hips break,

When the eyes grow dim.

Then I remember the great life I've had.....

And then I don't feel so bad.................

I hope your life is great you are doing wonderful things..........."

hey, all.........hope you enjoyed this.......

this was sent to me by a very good friend of mine that was a husband of a patient that i had taken care of in the past.........

needless to say he/they had a "couple of years on me and the majority of us here".........

and to share a secret with you all.....

micro tries to not get too close with her patient and families.......

there is a point of detachment, but sometimes it just does happen.........

it is so cool to know that we connect and that humour is indeed part of this "old" human 'animal' that we all are......

k' now the miracle, will see if I can correctly add on the original send along with the pic's.........

love and laughs to all.............:chuckle
