Lord of the Ring!

Published

This is true, I swear! I was doing a 'one on one' shift on the psych ward. (I only had one patient...my job was to follow him around, monitor him and chart. He kept 'borrowing' other patients property....hence, I was his guard.) During my first day, I noted this patient had a ring very similar to one I had. I tucked him in at night, signed off to the night nurse and went home. The next morning, as he was eating breakfast, I noticed his ring was missing. He couldn't recall where it went. With permission, we searched his room and his belongings, no ring. He was quite upset. I filled in the required forms for lost patient property, not really thinking we'd ever find this ring. When I appeared for my third dayshift, the night nurse was collapsing in fits of laughter. Our fellow requested an early a.m. shower. Well, the night 'guard' nurse found the ring. On his member. It was a VERY tight fit. We ended up finding the only male nurse in our hospital that day, and gave him a new patient assignment. Get the ring off!!!! After much hard work, soap, lubricant, etc. the ring was off. That poor male nurse still carries the nickname "Lord of the Ring"!

All in a day's work? :chuckle
