Thanks for you reply Silverdragon. Do i need to get a green card to work? Is there such a thing as a 1-2 year working visa? OzN
If a Australian citizen there is the E3 visa with no immigrant intent but not sure 100% how it works but you do need pass in NCLEX and Visa screen certificate otherwise there is only the GC for nurses. Either way you are looking at a several months to years before moving depending on which way you go
if i work in a nursing home as a caregiver and not a nurse, will that experience count? im a new grad btw.
Experience is only counted as an RN when it is in that role. Care-giver roles are nothing more than the nursing asst or maid role, depending on where you go to.
You cannot go to the US as a caregiver and get a legal visa for that.

I am an Australian RN with aged care experience who would like to relocate to Oregon. I have done a few google searches about sponsorship and have come up with a few agencies however each of the agencies only take on hospital RNs. Is there any way of finding agencies who would sponsor a RN to work in a nursing home?
thanks,
OzN
