nursing home sponsorship

Published

I am an Australian RN with aged care experience who would like to relocate to Oregon. I have done a few google searches about sponsorship and have come up with a few agencies however each of the agencies only take on hospital RNs. Is there any way of finding agencies who would sponsor a RN to work in a nursing home?

thanks,

OzN

Think you will find agencies only deal with hospitals you may have to approach nursing homes for petition. If looking for a GC then you are looking at several years due to retrogression plus have you already passed NCLEX? Employers will more than likely look at you if you have

If a Australian citizen there is the E3 visa with no immigrant intent but not sure 100% how it works but you do need pass in NCLEX and Visa screen certificate otherwise there is only the GC for nurses. Either way you are looking at a several months to years before moving depending on which way you go

Experience is only counted as an RN when it is in that role. Care-giver roles are nothing more than the nursing asst or maid role, depending on where you go to.

You cannot go to the US as a caregiver and get a legal visa for that.

Hi ,Does any one know how much of bed capacity is needed to make a particular nursing home eligible to sponsor a nurse? Can any body give info on this? Thanks in advance.:nuke:

It makes no difference the number of beds, the issue is that the US is under a retrogression so you are looking at more than five years for a chance at a green card, and I mean chance. There just are not any visas available now and a huge waiting list already ahead of you.

There is nothing to indicate that retrogression will end, all you can do is keep observing PD's moving forward
