US SS # and licensure by endorsement
@dennisacob, I called the Texas BON and I was told that I don't need to take the exam again to be endorsed. They only require the exam result/letter coming from the CA BON. This will serve as a verification of my passing. A payment of $150 is also needed to process the application. They will then issue the license.

license endorsement CA to TX help!
^ Thanks so much for the information. I went through the Texas BON website and just have a couple more questions... If I apply through examination, does that mean I need at least 2 years hospital experience before I could apply for one? Also, According to the website, there is an option of taking the refresher course. WHere is the refresher course being offered? If it is in Texas, does that mean they will give the applicant a visa to go to Texas in case the applicant doesn't have one?

US SS # and licensure by endorsement
thanks. I'm working in my country now as a nurse. I recently passed the NCLEX under CA licensure application and my visa screen is on the process. I've got an employment contract with one of the hospitals in Texas but I'm not sure if I should sign it.

US SS # and licensure by endorsement
shoots.. i'm in the same situation. if i apply through examination, do i have to take the exam again? or do i just go through the process of submitting the application forms and other school documents to the other state and CA BON will send them the exam results and i get licensed to the other state?.... if i get licensed to the other state, do i also get a CA license? if not, can I still apply for a CA license through endorsement after a couple of years? sorry for all the questions...

global care
^yup. What I was just saying is that the binding contract is only valid for a year unlike other agencies which has binding contract with an indefinite time. With the retrogression, no has a chance of being in the US within a year. But having an employer is a better choice than nothing. Having a contract with the employer means you're on the wait list for the visa. Let's just hope visas will soon become available for nurses. :)

global care
Global care has a binding contract which is valid for a year. If nothing happens within a year, you may find another agency without having to pay. You also have the option to stick with them and wait. My cousin was able to go to California through this agency. It took her 2 years and a half though. Good thing is, she went to the US with her family. @john, which agency did you sign up?

March 2008 NCLEX support group
ill be taking the NCLEX in 2 days.. i used meds publishing DVDs and read SAUNDERS only once. i am now using the companion CD of SAUNDERS but i dont think ill be able to finish it until tomorrow. as of today, i only got to finish 2,200 questions with rationale. during the first half, i was averaging 60%, now ive been averaging only 70-76%. is that good enough? i heard some of my friends who already took the exam averaged 85%..
