I am interested in the ways nursing ethics are covered in nursing school. I am currently in an RN to BSN program in Orlando. A research paper on nursing ethics brought me to this site and would like to hear anyone's comments on the subject. Is it taught plainly? Is it touched on briefly? Any comments would be welcome.
Thanks

We have to take an ethics course. Ethical principles are rehashed in most every other course.

I am taking my ethics class this summer, started last week. Although, from the first semester, the importance of ethical values in nursing have been stressed regarding situations.
Thanks for the response.

We have an individual class for ethics. It's called Proffessional Issues and we also deal with ethics in each class for each situation we talk about.

We have a course called "Ethical and Legal Dimensions in Nursing Practice," and it is available in a traditional classroom or online format. I agree that with every nursing class you take, ethics will come up at least once. The ethics class just tied up all the loose ends for me.
