can anyone tell me what type of questions could get asked during an interview for a full time nursing instructor position in an ADN program??

Well, in school (my grad school that is), our professors tell us will will most likely be asked what our Phiosophy is. I hate that question. I guess that's when you're supposed to quote Martha Rogers or Jean Watson.

They may ask you what your take on ADN programs are, and your opinion/theory on higher education.

I was not asked either of these, as the school I am teaching for is my alma mater. They basically told me which theorists they (still) use and their teaching methods. I was asked the real basic questions (like what have you done since you graduated?) I'm currently completing my MSN, so they did ask me what classes I have taken and what kind of 'teaching' experience I've had (none really, but I hyped up all the group presentations, lesson plans and fake tests I made up for school).

Hope this helps. Good luck with your interview.

Please refer to this thread (started by ME 3+ years ago when I was interviewing for my current job!)... Great advice here and it worked :roll

BTW, one of the first questions asked was "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" Dynamicfigure's post was almost prophetic:

I did dress very professionally, but modestly (black pantsuit with simple necklace and earrings and matching purse). I was very upbeat, genuine, made eye-contact with everyone on the interview committee and smiled often. I did bring samples of my work and resume copy for everyone present. And, when I was through, I sent a thank-you note to the director of the program.

thanks for the feedback - I plan to check out those threads and take notes!!

I just found out that as part of the interview process I have to present a 20 minute lecture/presentation on "Care of the patient with altered acid/base balance" to the search committee, pretending that the group is actually a group of nursing students - oh my my!!!

better get preparin'!!!!

I have applied to an LVN program and will be interviewed by a panel of 7 members, can anyone tell me what questions will be asked of me so that I can better prepare myself on what to expect?
