Nursing diagnoses Hyperthyroidism..help!

Hello, I am new to this site and joined because I am looking for a little help on a project I'm presenting. My NCLEX book lists a nursing diagnoses for Hyperthyroidism as "Decreased cardiac output". Now, I understand why this would be with Hypothyroidism, but why for Hyper? I have searched everywhere and I am thinking that the diagnoses should be "Increased cardiac output". If somebody could shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it. BTW, my name is Jen and I am in second semester of LPN. Thanks much! ;)

    I have googled everything. Sorry I didn't notice the student nursing forum, I was kind of in desperate need for a little bit of help.

    The only reason that I can think it would be decreased CO is because hyperthyroidism can increase a HR, which would decrease preload, affecting CO. Usually though, hyperthyroidism doesn't increase the rate THAT much so you would need to see what HR your patient was trending. Does that make sense?

    I looked it up, what your NCLEX says doesn’t make sense, Hyperthyroid produces a hypermetabolic state and stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system. It literally says increases cadio out put so one book or the other is wrong. But if you look up hypermetabolic state it is usually linked with Hyperthyroidism.
