Nurses Career Support

Hello all,

I graduate in 58 days (May 4th, 2013) and am looking for a job!!!! I am already an LPN, have been since 2006. I've worked full time, then stopped to go to school, now working just PRN (but not much at all) while in school. My plea is for someone(s) to look over my resume and tell me what you think. I don't have a lot of experience besides LTC, no hospital experience anyway. Should I include my restaurant experience or caring for my terminally ill mother (not sure on that one) or even the clinical rotations? All grads come out with the same basic skill set and similar rotations...

Thanks in advance!

Kelly

My advice would be to make it shorter...sounds funny but if the person hiring you sees a long resume they are not going to want to read it all. You don't necessarily have to delete a lot but just make the font smaller and not as much spacing. Fitting it all on 2 pages will make them feel like they are reading less. Maybe put the family member under related experience and not under nursing experience.

Also the fact that you are an LPN already should help you very much to get a job!
