I had it--think I recycled it after I read it. Was not as helpful as I thought it would be. It basically said to make sure the ear pieces are comfortable, put it on, pick up the tubing near the diaphragm and rub the tubing--if it's loud in your ears, it's probably not a good scope. It also talked about the different types of bells and diaphragms--some are two-sided, others one-sided.
I thought the whole 'insert' was pretty silly, or else I wouldn't have recycled it.

Hi,Does anyone have access to this article?
"Choosing the best stethoscope"

Nursing2005 w/ Supplement: ED Insider
August, 2005,Volume 35, Number 8, Pages 27 - 28
I'm guessing it's in the ED Insider part as our school has the August issue and I cannot find the article nor the insert. This link shows how I can order it for $2.95 but I want to know if there is any substance to the article before I fork over the $$$ (I know, $3 would really break the bank).
Thanks in advance,
ty
I may be able to access this through my schools library website (ohiolink if youve ever heard of it, im sure most states have something similar) if i can find it electronically i will pm you the article:)

yep...i posted that link in the OP. just don't want to fork over the $3 to view a potentially useless article (call me frugal).
thanks though,
