Nursing application

Hey, I am 23 in Georgia and have a DUI conviction (misdemeanor) when I was 21. I have been sober for 2 years now and have excelled in my pre reqs as well as my HESI A2 entrance exam. I guess I wrote this post to ask whether or not im wasting my time in applying for my program. They don't do background checks and have encouraged me to apply, but I would have to disclose on the application process. Also, if accepted I would have to worry about my placements denying me because of my past misdemeanor. Does anyone have any insight on my specific situation? Thanks in advance!
