    At 48 and a new RN, I was incredibly lucky to get hired at a hospital with people who see the benefit of age. They are not allowed to ask about age or children, but I put it out there in my cover letter. I mentioned life experience and lessons as well as having self-sufficient children so no maternity leave, sick kids, or babysitting issues. You have to be creative and hard working but it is possible.
