HMO sued for denying chemotherapy to Florida cancer patient

  1. A Lake Worth, Fla., woman with brain cancer has sued her HMO on alleging it has refused to pay for a chemotherapy drug her doctor prescribed. The suit centers on whether the drug is considered a prescription pharmaceutical or a chemotherapy treatment.

    Something is very wrong when a beaurocrat decides what your medical treatment should and should not be. They don't know you, never see you, and in many cases, have minimal (if any) medical knowledge anyway.
