Western Wisconsin Clinic Closings

On Monday, Dec. 10, Corporate Health & Wellness (CH&W), Inc., based in Paris, KY, closed down the operations of two community-based outpatient clinics in Hayward and Rice Lake, Wisconsin, serving 915 veteran patients.

CH&W contacted its employees at the two clinics and advised them to leave and lock the doors. Patients were ready to be seen when the doors were locked.

Patients scheduled for appointments beginning Tuesday, Dec. 11, are being called by Minneapolis VAMC staff. VAMC will continue to contact scheduled patients and advise them of the situation and to make arrangements for alternative care.

Sounds like these veterans were abandoned by the private sector.

I wonder if Governor Doyle plans on doing anything.

It really is a federal issue. This shows the danger of counting on the private sector to care for vulnerable populations.....

That does show one of the weakness of private sector care. If they are not making as much as they think they should be making they walk away. Resturants and cleaners shut down with little notice all the time but they are not providing healthcare.
