Positive alcohol test

Was just informed I tested positive for alcohol. I knew I was as I relapsed in February. They took my license. Go before the board in September. Anyone know what I should expect.

Im confused. You said you just tested positive for alcohol(etg or urine alcohol)

You then said you relapsed in February.

Are you in a monitoring program?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Perhaps you could Give us some background including which state BON is involved, any monitoring programs and any paperwork received from the BON.

In the state of nevada. I abused meth for many years before getting clean in august 19th 2005. I continued drinking alcohol only on rare occurrences. Didn't really knowing or understand about the dual addiction . Never really considered I might have a drinking problem. Decided to go back to school when I was 28. Totally reinvented myself and passed nursing school and nclex with flying colors. When I filled out my questionnaire I was honest about drug use and also had a DUI when I was 18 an open container at 21. Made a lot of mistakes but I was young and dumb. Went before the board and was totally honest about my life experiences. Needless to say I was crucified. I received a 3 yr monitoring program that includes zero abstinence from alcohol. I've had a few dilute urines which I think flagged the board. My dilute urines were 100 percent not related to me trying to cover anything up. I breast feed and drink a lot of water so I didn't. Dry up. On this particular occasion I was out of town, had no child with me and decided to have 2 beers. The next day I was called to test. The board called me informing me they were revoking my license for 2 drinks.

I feel empty and very disappointed in myself that I would make such a dumb decision.

I am so sorry to hear your story. I would encourage you to obtain legal representation when appearing before the board but aside from that you know what to do. I am always here if you need a sympathetic ear.

I'm prepared. When I talked with case manager I was honest and told her I had 2 beer night before. I also volunteered to do hair test so they could know I wasn't abusing meth or anything and it was just the alcohol. They said it didn't mAtter😀
