Nurse Residency July 2017

Hi all! I graduate may 2017 and have already applied to UTSW nurse residency program! I wanted to start this thread to keep each other informed of notifications and updates on the application process! I applied for Women's Health and Adult Critical Care track!

Has anyone signed their contract yet?

Oh, no I have not recieved one yet! I thought you were talking about a 1 or 2 year employment commitment contract. UTSW doesn't require one of those right?

No they told me they don't require a commitment one during my interview. And we (at least I) haven't gotten one that is why I ask. They said in 2-3 weeks and today is 3 weeks for me, so I just wanted to check if anyone has gotten that onboarding info yet!

I was also told we would receive contracts in 2-3 weeks which would have been 3 days ago. But today I was told they won't be sending out onboarding info until May from a different woman...so I have no clue, all the information is different.

Hey guys. I was just passing through the forums and noticed this thread. I started the residency a few weeks ago (feb cohort) and just wanted to let you know it took them much longer than the 2-3 weeks for the official contracts. It was closer to six. It drove me crazy but you just gotta wait it out. HR is a little slow...

Hey people that accepted positions for July Residency! Do you know what to do about buying scrubs? I know they need to be navy and embroidered with UTSW logo, but can you buy your own and get them embroidered or do you have to buy them from UTSW? I can't find any info about it online and am coming from out of state.

yes buy your own. I'm a current employee and the ones you buy from the gift shop are terrible!!! You can get them embroidered out side of the hospital way cheaper too

Can you buy any style/brand of scrubs as long as they are navy blue? Also, what stores do you get them embroidered at outside of the hospital? If you have the names of any shops that would be so helpful! :)

I am wondering the same thing! It sounds like you can pick your brand, but I would love to get info about embroidery! The HR contact just gave me the contact info to do it through the gift shop and the gift shop lady was not very helpful.
