For those nurse practitioners who work 100% inpatient (not in a clinic, only in a hospital inpatient setting): Do you work independently or do you have an MD supervising you and your work?

Specializes in Hospital medicine; NP precepting; staff education.

This is state dependent, usually. I am in SC and I am required to have a collaborative physician within 45min. Also, if the hospitalists want to get full reimbursement, they sign off each admission, round, consult, and discharge (incidence-to billing).
