NP Love

Specialties NP

I'm a PA who just graduated and I jsut wanted to say that I worked with several NP's on my rotations and they were all fabulous with the exception of maybe one. For all the battling that goes on forums PA vs NP it seems it really doesn't exist in the real world. The PA's and NP's do the same work and get along great. I'm happy. I went the PA route because I had already done some hard science first, but would easily have gone to NP school if I had gone the nursing route first, after I had a few years of rn experience first as I would feel really unprepared for the midlevel role otherwise :) Surgical NP i worked with did amazing skin grafts! Better than the senior residents! :)

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

You are right that for the most part, PA's, NPs and other APNs peacefully co-exist! lol

I work in a large nephrology practice with 3 PAs, 3 NPs and me (a CNS).

Hey,

That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing the love! There are certainly enough people out there needing healthcare to employ all of us +. Why not quit squabbling and focus on the patient? Isn't that what we're all here for?

At my school we have a health & social justice organization made up of graduate nursing, MD, PA, pharmacy and business students. It is so wonderful to be truly interdisciplinary - it has shown me how much we need each other, and what can be done to change the system when we use our collective knowledge.

Good luck in your post-graduation life!
