Jobs as family practice BSN & NP

  1. Hello Everyone,
I am currently finishing my pre-reqs for the UIC BSN program. I plan on working for about two years to get experience & going on to get my FNP. I want to work in a family practice. I was just curious as to how difficult it is to find a job, right out of a BSN program, in a family practice. Also, how difficult is it to find a job as a FNP in a family practice? I live in the Chicago suburbs(specifically Plainfield) and want to remain in the area (I hate my parents b/c they make me love the so much, otherwise I'd move somewhere warmer ). So, if anyone would have specific info on that area that would be even more helpful. Thanks bunches & God bless

You want hospital experience before going to NP school, not working in a family practice office.

Right now, I would worry about getting into the actual nursing program. Your goals may change many times before you graduate. And once you begin working, you may decide on a different specialty................
