Hi! I am looking for a school for nurse practitioner program preferably online that will help me with clinical sites that will only take less than 2 years. I asked around and I am looking at Kaplan, Simmons and Maryville, the only problem is they really don't help with clinical sites like other universities that really place you at the clinical sites with the preceptors. Any suggestions? I was planning to take it here in the university in my place, too bad It's already close. Next enrollment will be for the 2015 class which is really frustrating because I really want to start my NP program this year.
Note: no other schools are offering nurse practitioner program here aside from that university

And once again a pre-NP student who seems to have eyes for for profit programs.
Ignore Kaplan, please. Simmons and Kaplan are not even in the same league. Of those three, definitely choose Simmons. Outstanding reputation for NPs and they've put a lot into their online program from my research.

Kaplan is nothing short of a scam. You're going to be treating illnesses and saving lives. Why would you skimp on your education? Stick with well known, traditional programs. Even if you have to wait a year to apply. It'll be worth it.

Simmons is 18 mo full time, 24 mo part time and they DO assist with clinical placement. One visit to campus prior to clinicals.

Yet another wayward soul searching for the elusive trifecta of cheap, online, and fast.
I agree with previous posters. Wait the extra year. Prepare yourself for the journey ahead of you!

The extra year is a good time for you to gain experience, get your finances in order, network with providers in your area, figure out what type of NP you wish to be, assess how this will affect your life and make adjustments now so that you are ready when the time comes.
Thank you so much for you advices. I guess I might wait for it then... :)
