yes, meaning i want to know if your a ob/gyn np and wanting to be a ob/gyn, how would u do this?

To go from NP to an actual Ob/Gyn doctor, means that you will have to attend medical college for four years, then do a complete residency in Ob/Gyn. The hours or time that you put in for the NP specialty do not count towards the MD programs. You would be startign from square one, but you would have a much better grasp on things.

But not sure why someone would want to do that.............especially if you have already put in all of the time for the NP and with its training.

Simply, the CNM carries the woman from conception through the PP 6 week check up.

The Woman's Health (previously OB) NP can treat any woman of any age. Normally the OB NP does not deliver. They can, but, usually the hospital will employ the physician or CNM to do this.

I deliver in the hospital when I take ER call.

Both can have private practice.

to be honest i just thought about staying a ob/gyn np bc it seems like a ob/gyn trys to get ppl in and out and i dont want to be a person that has to do that. everyone is intitled to their worries.
