Nurse:patient ratio's in upper east Tn

All you guys in Kingsport, Bristol, and Johnson City areas, what is your nurse patient ratio in hospital setting now?

That area is my home and after the past few devistating hurricaines here in Pensacola, hubby and I have decided we have had enough of the wind and we are moving home next spring.

Believe it or not the salaries are very comparable to this area of Florida (and actually better it seems) but I have not been able to find out the ratio's

I am a new grad but once i'm up to full speed I will take 4-6 pts on a general medical pediatric floor, in Knoxville. Good luck!!

YES,I'M FROM ELIZABETHTON THE SALIRES SEEM TO BE GOOD HERE I WORK IN LONG TERM CARE SNF COORDINATOR GREAT TO SEE SOME ONE FROM MY AREA :cool:

hi, i am in kingsport, i work on a tele unit, we average anywhere from4 to maybe 7 or 8 pts on nite shift, the 7 or 8 only if staffing issues that nite. have had managers stay and give meds, etc to help out too. also have either 2-3 techs each night. pm me if you want details or have specific questions, i have lived and worked here my whole life and am very familiar with both hospital systems.

I was excited to see your reply. The Kingsport area is within my job range. I could really use some honest information on both hospital systems there. I will be taking boards soon and will be out there knocking on doors. Anything you'd like to share?
