It would vary depending on the unit
how about on a regular med surg floor.

At the hospital I work at about 5-7 pts per nurse but it always varies on the census and staffing (short or full).

6 to 7 usually..at most 7 to 8..and you're too busy with your patients to call your Union..patient care is affected..it's a vicious cycle

At Columbia, I would float to a med surg unit and the minimum blank spaces on their breakdown sheets were for 6 patients each. Unsafe.

How about NYP/Queens on a med/surg floor? Anyone have experience there?
I started a topic about this but saw this thread as well. Thought I'd ask here also since its part of NYP system
