Nurse to Patient Ratio in North Carolina

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hello you all. I will be graduating from nursing school in california and be moving to North Carolina very soon. Iam very nervous because I know there are not mandated patient to nurse ratios in North Carolina. I was wondering what is the nurse to patient ratio that can be expected in North Carolina? If anyone knows about the nurse to patient ratio in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina that would be really helpful!!! Also, do hospitals generally hire CNAs to do vitals signs, basic care......? Thank you very much!

I work in Peds at PCMH and our ratio is 3-5:1. Night shift usually starts with 4. Sometimes we have a care partner at night...lately we haven't.
