Nurse market saturation 2015 and beyond ?

Nurses General Nursing

I like to get some ideas from the field as my daughter is planning to get into nursing program (or maybe pre-med). I have seen a lot of private schools(online schools also) are recruiting more students now. For the next 4-6 years, what do experienced nurses and management see how job market will be for the following career classification. However we know there will more baby boomers and seniors to take care of.

RN

NP

CRNA

Also I see base on our current economy, new nurses with no/little experiences will have hard time find jobs?

Great responses and I am sure we can use lots of those suggestions. She is currently doing hospital volunteer work. Yes she has almost 4 year of Spanish but not much practical use as she uses English most of the time - maybe try to get her to volunteer with Spanish speaking folks. I will try to get another hospital volunteer job for my HS freshman next Spring. Thank you all and happy Thanksgiving.

The market is so saturated with nurses here in WI that it's a shame. Schools continue to crank out nurses and many think there is a shortage. When they hit the market, they can't understand why they can't get a job. If your daughter wants to go to med school then why go into nursing? Just wondering because it's so hard right now and I don't think it will get a whole lot better even with the baby boomers. Just my :twocents:
