I am looking for a nurse leader to interview. I am finishing up a nurse executive leadership program. My current class is Advance Knowledge of Healthcare Systems. This class focuses on strategic planning, budgeting, and finance. The interview will consist of questions along those line. Thank you for your time.

Generally those types of assignments should be done face-to-face. Can you interview someone in your own organization? It might be more meaningful.

Yes, I understand that those are typically done face-to-face. My organization does not utilize nurse leaders in that capacity. My professor approved a phone interview in this case, but thank you for your response.

Specializes in Surgical, quality,management.

A nursing unit manager is a healthcare leader.

Specializes in ED, ICU, MS/MT, PCU, CM, House Sup, Frontline mgr.

OP: I think you are confused by the term, nurse leader. Nurse leaders are nurses in a formal role (typically use the title Executive, Director, and/or Manager...) or informal role (typically titled Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, QA Nurse, Clinical Nurse Educator, CNS, Staff RN IV... etc.) within an organization that shows leadership. Therefore, I agree with the above and think you can find a nurse leader in your organization. By the way, if you are looking for someone who deals with budgets, strategy, and finance, you should look at nurse leaders with the formal titles. Good luck.
