Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Dlbroyles, what scholarship are you talking about? I plan on staying in Michigan after I graduate so I'd like to apply for that one too! Thank you! :)

Hello everyone, I'm interested in applying for Nurse Corps Scholarship for 2018-2019. I called them today and they said that the application should be open anytime now. They are late this year but they didn't give a specific date as to when the application will be open.

Hello everyone! I am hoping to apply for the scholarship as well. I am anxiously waiting to see when it comes out. Its a little strange that they haven't even released an expected application date yet, isn't it? or is that just me lol?

Wait, I was wrong! The NHSC one is up but the Nurse Corps scholarship is not. Sorry!

Hi all,

I called Nurse Corps customer service again. Apparently, they cannot give a specific date at this time. However, they did say that whenever they do open up the due date for the application will be a time frame of 4-6 weeks.

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in applying for the scholarship this year 2018-2019.

I will be starting my last year of nursing school this fall 2018.

GPA: 3.2

EFC: 0

I had a question:

Can we apply for the scholarship for our BSN then be eligible to apply for loan repayment towards a graduate degree in the future? Or is it just one out of the two we can apply for?

I am wanting to apply for graduate school a few years after getting my BSN, maybe 4-5 years. So I wanted to know if I would be eligible to apply to the loan repayment program if I were to hopefully get the scholarship this year.
