Hi Fellow Nurses!
Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?
I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.
Is anyone else out there?
Ok, this morning at work our CEO announced that there is "a problem" with our HRSA funding. We are now asking patients to sign letters to send to congress. Her message did not state exactly what the "problem" was. But this is what some of us had assumed already. That this year has taken so long because HRSA is making sure they can cover the awards given. Have you guys heard of anything like this at your FQHCs?
HRSA administers a whole bunch of programs, including funding for facilities. I'm guess the HRSA funding your boss was talking about had nothing to do with Nurse Corps or NHSC.
I am anxiously waiting. I am D/I >107% and score 17 and have not heard a thing. For the people who are awarded I'd love to know what debt to income so i know how far down the list I am. I called today and basically received the message that if you haven't heard yet it's basically you have to wait till other deny award for you to be selected if your next on list so to speak.
I feel like crying if that's true.I don't want to believe that all awards have been released.
I only received a finalist email a few days ago so I wouldn't be so sure. I've been stalking this page to see if other people have heard of people getting finalist emails and not getting awarded in past years as well.
I received the finalist award on 9/7/17. When I log in it says Accepted Award - Under Final Review. I signed the agreement but I haven't received the Secretary of Health and Human Services or Designee signature. I've seen this question posted before but I haven't seen any responses. Does anyone know if people get denied at this stage?
I called today and asked them about the next steps if you have accepted award and are under final review. the representative told me that you are more likely to get an award if your application says that at this point, but that it is still not guaranteed. she kept repeating that I will find out by september 30th. I cant help but wonder if there is an order to the way they contact and award people. I am an RN working at a DSH in tier 1 with a debt to salary percentage of around 250%. I only received my finalist email August 31st. I know other RNs have been awarded and wondering if they were DSH or CSF. Otherwise it makes no sense on how they go from the top down debt wise.
