Hey y’all!

Mine got cleared and sent sent over this week too! The deadline is September 15 and my recruiter said he’d tell me the official number applied as soon as he knows. The ETA every year is Nov 1. I think last year it was a little after (around the 4th). The year before is when a girl at my school got it and she didn’t find out till thanksgiving.  But an old HC recruiter said there’s been some years where it’s late October.

Just found out that there’s only 2 of us out of my state who applied to NCP.

Wow! What state are you in? In from NY, so I imagine there will be a few more. Did you ask your recruiter?

Hawaii. Yes, I asked my recruiter as she’s the only medical recruiter for the whole state.

I spoke to my recruiter yesterday! They had a conference call early this week but they didn’t release the final number of applicants. He will let me know when/if they do. He said they never extend the deadline, however, so that shows how few applicants there are this year than in the past. Therefore, he said there is a higher percentage chance that you’ll be accepted this year. So that’s good news for all of us!

Do let us know the number of applicants for 1/2 year in relevance for spots! Could you ask your recruiter more about how they select and the average GPA of applicants?

I'm also surprised your recruiter told you so much info. My recruiter said he can't tell me anything outside that I did well. He can't tell me scores for interviews and he didnt get his hands on any of the hard numbers or whatnot according to him.

Hey Derick,

From what I understand, the board don’t just look at your GPA. As long as you’re a well-rounded applicant, you should be good. I’m surprised your recruiter doesn’t tell you any info. I actually found out all of my interview scores from my recruiter.

My recruiter went through NCP theirself and my people I’ve interviewed with stay in touch and now are my FB friends so I know so much through them.

He said that it’s a whole picture that gets you accepted. He said past medical experience (I have none) shouldn’t matter because he’s had applicants who’ve been accepted with and without. And he said don’t stress much about GPA his last year only had a 3.2. He thinks interviews are the most important followed by personal statement but he said the board is different each year and they each love their own thing.

As of around August 20th there was only 40 apps which is why they extended the deadline. But that doesn’t include people like me who were held up in MEPS waiting for waiver approvals. Mine got submitted early September.

For those who are graduating May 2021 are you sure your recruiter said you could get 2 year? My recruiter said I’d only be eligible for 1 year because payments don’t start till May and May 20-21 is only a year. Either way he said your app is reviewed with everyone’s and if you’re eligible for two years you may be asked for 1 or 2 years depending on spots. Hoping he may be wrong and I get offered a two year.

As of right now they’ve had conference calls about NCP but the final number of apps hasn’t been made known. My guess is they may not ever release the info to recruiters
