So I recently got accepted to Stony Brook's nursing program. I was somewhat surprised because it is extremely competitive with most applicants having GPA's in excess of 3.6 in sciences and overall, while my overall was a 3.5 and my sciences was a 3.4. I guess my interview went well, and I would consider my statement as well as my resume to be the strong points.
Now what im curious about is if I am considered competitive enough for the NCP? It would be a fantastic opportunity but I heard it is very competitive. I currently have a 3.45 GPA overall from all my institutions combined as well as experience in lifeguarding, swim instruction, working as a Resident Assistant and other leadership related roles. My recruiter says he believes I am competitive but I am well aware of how difficult it can be to stand out in the sea of applicants. Does anyone have any thoughts about it, or can anyone in the NCP give me feedback as well as tell me what their "credentials" were when applying as long as they are OK with that? I would greatly appreciate it!
My other question is about DUINS. Would it be possible to apply for DUINS one day if I was a Navy Nurse while under the 5 year NCP obligation or would I need to finish the obligation first? I found some conflicting information online.

Hi there.
I believe you’ll get a call from your recruiter first. Then you’ll receive an official email after.

Thanks. I’ll try to contact my recruiter bc I also applied for the 2-yr.
