Yup... a whole forum dedicated to them and people who are thinking of being one. Go to the forums tab above and click on "advance practice nursing forums", then click on the Nurse Anethesia forum link. Better yet, go to the "Pre-CRNA" forum which is a sub-forum - it's a good place to get info on the career and ask questions to current CRNAs and CRNA students.
Hope this helps!

The nurse anesthetist forum is probably the most active one on this site. We are active and enjoy discussing all types of topics. Also go to the AANA website http://aana.com for information about the profession.
By the way, the best decision I ever made was to go into anesthesia. There has never been a day in my 46 years of practice that i haven't loved it. Besides the ability to practice independently, it is great to give direct patient care to one patient at a time, and to make my own judgments about medications, anesthesia agents, pain control and maintaining vital signs.
Thanks yoga and Anna.Do you guys know the general criteria to get into a Nurse Anest. program?Do you need excellent grades as a undergrad? Is it extremely hard to become a Nurse Anesth.?
Read all of the posts on the Pre-CRNA Forum on allnurses. The stickies should be very helpful. You should find all of the answers to your questions. Also that is the best place to post your questions.
I can tell you that we are looking for the best and the brightest, so study hard now, get good grades, show a high level of professionalism early and lead a balanced life (try yoga)
Lol thanks Yoga

Is it true...I heard a CRNA makes 160K starting?
Read the sticky at the top of the Pre-CRNA Forum. Also, to get some idea of salaries being offered to nurse anesthetists, check gaswork.com[/url The salary you quoted is probably accurate, but you must remember what it is we do and how much education we have to do it. Read the sticky.
