Hey Y'all
This is Brianna from the Excelsior NUR104 class. I thought we could post on here helpful study things for the upcoming test.
I just finished this week's quiz. Can someone help me understand what in the world number 2 was asking?! I spent a good 45 minutes trying to understand because I don't remember going over than in my reading!
I went to one of the websites it has on the module wrap up and found where it said prepare for cold weather (or something like that...) and basically it was give emergency numbers, inform about hypothermia.. Etc I'm not sure if I got it right or not but that's where I went to find my answer!

OMG I didn't even look at that this week! Well that makes sense. Oh well. I put things like assess for shelter/heat source, back up heating in case of power outage, good and water reserves, communication method...bah! I really feel like this class is not centered, I've never had to utilize so many information resources for a course before...not even in PN school.

Yeah, I made sure to look through everything because I didn't know where to look in the book for that answer, so I looked through all the online stuff and found the websites! That could still be counted right if she grades it like she understands where you are coming from! All depends on how she reads it I guess. I know! Its all about different areas of stuff I feel like!
Has anyone taken the #6 quiz?? I have been so busy this week I haven't had time to study. Also, on last weeks quiz the open ended response questions... She counted #3 wrong for me. It was the one about safety precautions to use instead of restraints and I found the answer in the textbook. Wondering what y'all put!
I haven't taken this week's quiz, but plan to tonight since the site will be down tomorrow.
For number that question I put to provide relaxation and anxiety relief, find ways to communicate effectively, provide frequent assessment and supervision, and to keep the patients caregivers and environment consistent. Pages 673-674 in our basic nursing text.
How did you do on the baby based on developmental stage question and the one about the elderly patient in the chair pushed up to the table? I think questions 4 and 10?

I just took the week 6 quiz and it was very simple. Thanks for the heads up! For #4 on the last weeks quiz about the baby I put safety and security for the answer and it was counted right. For #10 about the elderly patient I put that the pt cannot get out of the chair in case of a fire since that is the highest priority out of all the answer choices!

I'm anxious to see what I got since professor said the average was 80 something for the class and then she went on to the review list which looks like everything in the quiz...
So I initially had 10 marked wrong and I chose that the patient could fall while trying to get out of the chair, but looking at it now it is marked correct and my score is higher. This is what our text read. Even though fire could be a concern, the elderly person could very well get out but could fall which could prevent them from getting out safely, if at all, in the event of a fire. That's how I saw it, that and given what our book said.

I got it marked correct as well... I am not sure why we both chose different answers and both got it counted right!
